Data And Analytics Consultant

Lake Effect Data is seeking a detail-oriented Data & Analytics Consultant to support complex data, reporting, and operational initiatives across multiple projects. This role focuses on translating technical and business requirements into clear documentation, analytical outputs, and visual materials that support decision-making and execution. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across documentation, data analysis, and stakeholder communication, with the ability to bring structure and clarity to ambiguous environments. 

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Conduct detailed review of technical, operational, and business documentation to extract requirements and dependencies
  • Develop structured Word-based specification documents outlining data requirements, calculation logic, and process flows
  • Create PowerPoint materials that clearly communicate complex concepts, data flows, and system interactions
  • Support development, validation, and optimization of data workflows and pipelines
  • Analyze datasets to validate outputs and ensure alignment with business and operational requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on requirements and ensure accurate implementation Required Qualifications
  • Strong experience in technical documentation and requirements development
  • Proven ability to translate complex concepts into clear written and visual materials
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience working with structured data and data workflows
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to operate independently and bring clarity in fast-moving environments 

Preferred Qualifications
 

  • Experience with BI tools such as Power BI and/or Tableau
  • Experience with SQL, including Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms
  • Familiarity with Python and Jupyter notebooks for data analysis and exploration  Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure and/or AWS
