The Framingham History Center, a vibrant hub for local history and culture, is excited to announce an opening for an on-site Events Chaperone. This position is a unique opportunity for a dynamic and responsible individual to play a pivotal role at the historic Village Hall on the Common, under the stewardship of the Framingham History Center, as we invest in our deep commitment to community engagement and outreach.

The Events Chaperone serves as the on-site representative of Village Hall on the Common and the Framingham History Center during daytime, evening, and weekend events on an as-needed basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as on-site representative of Village Hall on the Common and the Framingham History Center during events. Provide reports on building usage.
  • Assist clients by providing directions and access to assigned areas.
  • Provide minor changes to the floor plan as needed and monitor the building’s cleanliness throughout the course of the event.
  • Present a warm, welcoming environment for our clients as they gather at this valuable community center. 

Skills/Experience Areas

  • Self-direction: Work with a high level of independence and autonomy, and arrive on time.
  • Adaptability: Respond to any situation that arises, including in the areas of safety or security of people or buildings.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of audiences.
  • Bilingual Proficiency: Preference for bilingual skills in order to connect and engage with our diverse communities. Preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to lift 40lbs unassisted.

Salary, Hours, & Benefits

Contract, as needed basis; $26. Weekday, night, and weekend work as scheduled.
