Cantera & Associates is a boutique international tax and advisory firm working with individuals, families, and businesses with cross-border needs. We handle complex and interesting tax situations, giving our team exposure to areas of tax most firms don’t typically see early in a career.

Position Overview
We are looking for motivated students or recent graduates interested in starting a career in accounting or tax. This is an entry-level role designed to provide hands-on experience in tax preparation, client work, and real-world applications of what you’ve learned in school.

No prior tax experience is required—we are looking for individuals who are eager to learn and willing to put in the work.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in preparing individual and business tax returns (Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, etc.)
• Organize and review client documents and financial information
• Learn how to identify missing information and follow up with the team
• Support the preparation of international tax forms (training provided)
• Work closely with experienced accountants and learn firm processes
• Gain exposure to real client scenarios and tax problem-solving

What We’re Looking For

• Current student or recent graduate in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Comfortable working with numbers and financial data
• Positive attitude and ability to take feedback

Nice to Have (Not Required)

• Basic knowledge of accounting or tax concepts from coursework
• Familiarity with Excel
• Interest in pursuing CPA or a career in public accounting
