Christian School of York (CSY) is seeking to hire an Upper School math teacher for the 26/27 school year. The ideal candidate will inspire students to think critically, solve problems creatively, and develop confidence in their mathematical abilities. This educator designs engaging learning experiences across a range of math courses.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Curriculum
- Teach a full load of Upper School math courses (specific courses assigned based on expertise and departmental needs).
- Design lessons that promote conceptual understanding, mathematical reasoning, and real‑world application.
- Use varied instructional strategies to support diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Develop assessments that measure student progress and provide meaningful feedback.
- Integrate technology, manipulatives, and inquiry‑based approaches where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with families.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, Math Education, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of secondary mathematics content.
- Experience working with upper/high school students in an educational setting.
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
