Performing Arts Floater (Teaching Artist – Part-Time)

Organization: Raw Talent Performing Arts
Location: Chicago, IL (Multiple School Sites – CPS & Community Programs)
Schedule: Part-Time (10–20 hours/week, flexible based on availability)
Compensation: $35–$50/hour

 

🎭 About the Role

Raw Talent Performing Arts is seeking a passionate, reliable, and adaptable Performing Arts Floater to support our growing school-based arts programming across Chicago.

This is an excellent opportunity for college students, recent graduates, and emerging artists who are interested in arts education, youth development, and community impact.

As a Floater, you will have the opportunity to work across multiple school sites, supporting or leading classes in areas such as dance, theater, music, and creative expression, while gaining hands-on experience in arts-integrated learning environments.

 

🎯 What You’ll Do

  • Lead or assist arts classes in dance, theater, music, or creative arts
  • Provide coverage for teaching artists across different school locations
  • Support program delivery in elementary and high school settings
  • Engage students through creative, structured, and interactive lessons
  • Help maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Adapt quickly to different age groups, classrooms, and program needs
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality program delivery

🧠 Qualifications

  • Background or strong interest in performing arts (dance, theater, music, etc.)
  • Experience working with youth (preferred but not required)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to be flexible, dependable, and responsive
  • Interest in education, youth development, or community-based work

 

⭐ Preferred

  • Experience in multiple artistic disciplines
  • Classroom or group facilitation experience
  • Interest in pursuing a career in arts education or nonprofit work
