Assistant City Attorney (part-time; about 25 hours per week)
City of Oshkosh, Wisconsin
Salary: $2,137 - $2,775 biweekly
The City of Oshkosh is seeking a dedicated Assistant City Attorney to provide legal counsel and representation on a broad range of municipal matters. Under the direction of the City Attorney, this position will primarily be responsible for prosecution of ordinance violations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prosecute ordinance violations in circuit court, including traffic, housing, building, and fire code cases.
- Represent the City in legal and administrative proceedings.
- Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, legal opinions, and other legal documents.
Minimum Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Wisconsin State Bar and active license in good standing throughout employment.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Two or more years of legal practice preferred.
- Experience in prosecution, civil litigation, and/or municipal law is desirable.
