Project Architect
Moran Hook Architecture is a boutique architecture studio based in New York City, focused on the design of bespoke residences rooted in classical and traditional design. The practice emphasizes enduring beauty, thoughtful detailing, and a deep respect for historical precedent, while tailoring each project to the specific character and lifestyle of its clients.
PROJECT ARCHITECT
We are currently seeking Project Architect candidates who are self-motivated with a minimum of 6-8 years experience in traditional architecture, including the management of substantial custom, private residential projects.
The position is full-time, in person at our office near Bryant Park in Manhattan. Candidates must be based in the New York Metropolitan area. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and are committed to the professional and creative development of our team.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Proficiency in CAD & Microsoft Office.
- Competency in sketching and hand drawing, Photoshop and InDesign, or other publishing software, and SketchUp are all preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Extensive knowledge of construction details; facility in assembling a set of construction documents.
- Experience running a project through all phases of design and construction.
- Ability to communicate clearly with clients, contractors, other consultants, and team members.
- Experience or education working within the language of classical or traditional architecture are preferred.
- Curiosity, desire to learn, as well as a desire to teach and guide more junior members of staff.
COMPENSATION RANGE
Intermediate (4-7 years): $90,000-$105,000
Senior (8-10 years): $110,000-$125,000
