Entry-Level Network Engineer
Job Summary
This is an entry-level engineering role designed for recent graduates or individuals
beginning their careers in telecommunications and networking. The position focuses on
learning and supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of in-building Wi-Fi
and cellular networks.
You will work alongside experienced engineers to assist with Wi-Fi/RF surveys, basic
network configuration, and project support across various job sites. This role provides
hands-on training, exposure to real-world deployments, and a clear path for career growth
within network engineering.
Education & Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a
related field preferred
- Relevant certifications (or willingness to obtain) such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or
similar are a plus
Experience:
- 0–2 years of experience in networking, IT support, or a related field
- Internship, lab, or academic project experience is acceptable
- No prior field leadership experience required
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with Wi-Fi and RF site surveys using tools like Ekahau
- Support basic configuration of network equipment (access points, switches, routers)
- Help with network installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting
- Participate in network testing and performance checks
- Learn to read and interpret network diagrams and layouts
- Assist in preparing technical documentation and reports
- Support project teams during deployments and cutovers
- Communicate updates to team members and supervisors
Technical Skills (Training Provided)
- Basic networking concepts (IP addressing, TCP/IP, VLANs) - Introduction to wireless networking (Wi-Fi/WLAN) - Exposure to network hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Aruba platforms) - Fundamentals of network security (authentication, access control) - Structured cabling standards and best practices
