Youth ArtReach Administrative Internship - Visions Internship
Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts is taking an active role in shaping the future of a more diverse and equitable arts and craft administrative field in central Appalachia. This internship opportunity provides arts administration experience to those who want a career within their own Appalachian communities. Arrowmont welcomes all Appalachian applicants from qualifying counties with preference given to BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), LGBTQIA2S+ and all other marginalized voices currently residing in central Appalachia.
At least 70% of the position will be working closely with Arrowmont’s ArtReach Programs Manager, planning and implementing the ArtReach on the Road youth outreach programs. The remaining 30% will be determined based on the selected applicant’s interests and will work closely with the Director of Local and Regional Programs to create a schedule that reflects those interests. This may include but is not limited to:
- programming
- development
- marketing
- operations management
- studio management
Arrowmont considers individuals who are mature, team-oriented, and self-motivated. Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to lift 25 lbs. are required for the position.
This is a 10-month internship, August 2026 to May 2027. The selected intern will receive a stipend, housing on Arrowmont’s campus, meals (meals on-campus during national workshop weeks, or a meal stipend), and the financial support for further professional development opportunities (i.e. conferences, workshops) occurring during or near the internship appointment. A stipend of $20,000-$24,000 is also provided based on experience level and length of internship.
The selected intern will be expected to work 40 hours per week for the duration of their internship, some weekends required.
