The James River Special Education Cooperative is seeking a permanent licensed School Psychologist or School Psychologist Intern for the 2023-2024 school year with the possibility of a permanent position for the 2023-2024 school year. Applicants must have or able to obtain a valid North Dakota School Psychologist Professional License through the Education Standards and Practices Board.
 
James River Special Education Cooperative is located in central North Dakota along Interstate- 94 between Bismarck and Fargo. It encompasses the following communities: Edgeley, Ellendale, Kulm, Jamestown, LaMoure, Litchville-Marion, Medina and Montpelier.
 
Duties include, but not limited to:
Provide support to students who face emotional, social, behavioral and academic challenges
Serve as a consultant for building level support teams for program development related to academic/social/emotional/behavioral supports
Serve as a support person to regular and special service staff
Recommend specific educational and behavioral programming
Provide direct counseling services to students when referral to another professional appears inappropriate
Counsel with parents and staff regarding initial placements in special education programs
Provide psychological evaluation for a broad range of students
Select and utilize appropriate assessment instruments and techniques designed to provide valid and reliable assessment results in a manner nondiscriminatory to the child
Serve as referral agent and liaison with community agencies within the responsibility framework of the James River Special Education Cooperative
Thoroughly knowledgeable with state and federal mandates and regulations as they relate to the provisions of psychological services in an educational setting
Assist with the development of new testing procedures within the Cooperative
Communicate with case managers on initial referrals, reassessments and Individualized Education Programs in order to maintain timely meetings and processes 
Assist in the provision of in-service training of school personnel
Track out-of-district placements and assist with transitioning to the local district.
Make a written annual report with copies to be given to the Director of Special Education
Report directly to and perform other duties assigned by the Director of Special Education
