Manufacturing Engineer

The Manufacturing Engineer’s responsibilities include the support of manufacturing operations in the production of filtration products by improving Safety, Ergonomics, On Time Delivery (OTD), Productivity and increasing yields of manufacturing activities. Identifying and development of all production, assembly & test processes, and procedures. assurance that products are produced in most safe and economical proficient manner. Ultimate quality characteristics and product design integrity must be adhered to.

The Manufacturing Engineer position is part of the Engineering Department and will be located in Cortland, NY.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Action plan-problem solving, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Partner with direct manufacturing operations in terms of safety, quality, productivity, and timely delivery to external customers.
  • Manufacturing Engineer will be assigned to specific product lines. The Manufacturing Engineer must ensure all related routing, fixtures, tooling, procedures, processes, etc. are appropriate and safely in place for manufacturing. 
  • Manufacturing Engineer will focus on reduction in process variation, waste reduction, standard work creation, preventative maintenance, process and quality upsets and optimized cell design.
  • Manufacturing Engineer implements Lean Manufacturing and Statistical Process Control concepts and initiatives and participates in the New Product Introduction Team.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with up to 1 year of professional experience (Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering)
  • Proficient in MS Office, Excel, Word, Power Point. Minitab is a plus.
  • Experience identifying and implementing improvements to processes, tools, and tooling.
  • Experience with Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing a plus.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming a plus.

The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $85,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
