⭐ While a background in health sciences, such as Nursing, Medical Assisting, Emergency Medicine, or Phlebotomy, is preferred, it is not a requirement at KLR. Position Summary:
This position is responsible for delivering dynamic online instruction, managing curriculum development, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the program. The instructor will play a vital role in the organization's success by overseeing learning programs, developing instructional content, collaborating with administration and finance teams to manage program budgets, and maintaining strong relationships with employer partners, school counselors, staff members, students, parents, and guardians. Additionally, the instructor will be responsible for ensuring that the department remains on task and working closely with the assistant when applicable.
This role includes guiding and supporting students in their work-based learning experiences. The instructor will work to assess skill development, provide ongoing support, and ensure workplace conditions meet program standards.
In addition to virtual instruction, the instructor may facilitate and participate in a variety of off-site enrichment activities, including student site visits, field trips, clinical skills workshops, student award ceremonies, and professional conferences related to the subject matter. These responsibilities require the instructor to have their own reliable transportation, for which KLR will provide full reimbursement for travel expenses.

About the Role:
This is a full-time, hybrid position working 40 hours a week, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm EST, and may require work on some evenings and weekends. Up to 21 days of out of state travel per year are required. Reports to: Bridgette Houska; Director of Administration & HR and Marielle Friedman; Health Sciences Instructor.
Responsibilities:
Instruction & Curriculum Development
- Deliver engaging and interactive online instruction aligned with program standards.
- Develop, update, and enhance curriculum to meet industry requirements and student needs.
- Create and implement lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Monitor student progress, provide timely feedback, and offer academic support as needed.
- Ensure instructional content meets accreditation and certification standards.
Student Support & Work-Based Learning Oversight
- Guide and support students in work-based learning experiences, internships, apprenticeships, and volunteer placements.
- Assess and track student skill development in real-world settings.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and additional resources to enhance student success.
- Potentially participating in hands-on learning or other in-person events related to KLR or your course.
- Monitor workplace conditions to ensure they align with program expectations.
- Address student concerns and collaborate with employer partners to resolve issues.
Program Administration & Coordination
- Maintain relationships with employer partners, school counselors, staff, students, parents, and guardians.
- Collaborate with administration and finance teams to manage program budgets and resources effectively.
- Work closely with program assistants to ensure department efficiency and organization.
- Track and report student progress, participation, and outcomes.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
Other Duties
- Stay updated on industry trends, certification requirements, and best practices in online learning.
- Assist with recruitment, enrollment, and student engagement initiatives.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of KLR’s online programs by providing feedback and innovative ideas.
- Adhere to KLR policies, procedures, and accreditation requirements.

Candidate Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Be proficient in Google Classroom
- Ability to interact in an appropriate and professional manner
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and confidently instruct groups of students in person or via Zoom.
- Your own reliable transportation
- Must currently have or obtain within one year of employment, as well as maintain for the duration of employment with KLR: (Note that this list may increase as KLR adds further programs)
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CCMA)
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT)
- Suicide Prevention Training
- CPR Certification
- Any other certifications needed
