Finance and Administration Associate

At Wenzlau Engineering, the Finance and Administration team is a small but dynamic group that support operations by timely reporting of the financial health of the company, executing subcontracts with suppliers, and ensuring materials are sourced efficiently, cost effectively, and timely in order to support operations and production.

Position Summary

We are seeking a proactive and driven Finance and Administration Associate to work directly with the CFO and other finance department personnel. In this role, you will support both accounting and finance functions as well as subcontract and purchasing management.  This position offers hands-on exposure to not only finance department-specific processes, but supports production, engineering, program management, and sales processes, making it an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to and grow within a fast-paced, innovative organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Purchasing and subcontract management:
    • Provide support to manufacturing, sales, program management, and engineering
    • Review and evaluate material and service requirements
    • Seek and identify sources of supply for material and service requirements
    • Establish accounts with suppliers
    • Obtain quotations from suppliers
    • Evaluate quotations and negotiate favorable terms (pricing, delivery, other terms of sale)
    • Write purchase orders
    • Provide support tracking purchase orders and ensuring delivery of all associated requirements
  • Finance and accounting support:
    • Provide support in all accounting activities

Qualifications

  • Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to understand and communicate engineering concepts effectively.
  • Process-oriented disposition
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong collaborative skills
  • College degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with SQL is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a self-directed approach to work
