Network and Systems Administrator

Description of work

This position performs a variety of routine and complex duties related to the day-to-day operation of networks, software, hardware, databases, and enterprise systems. Organizes, installs and supports corporate computers systems, including wired and wireless local area networks (LANs), server infrastructure, IP Phone Networks, IP Camera Systems, in-vehicle modems and devices, and other data communication systems. 

Qualifications

Any combination of training and experience equivalent to an associate’s degree with major course work in Information Technology or a related field plus a minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a networking environment.

Essential functions of the job

• Support, design, maintain and monitor all data communication networks.
• Implement and manage all systems, applications, security, and network configurations.
• Evaluate and optimize wired and wireless networks or system performance
• Install, support and manage desktops, laptops, servers and server storage to resolve issues as needed.
• Implement and maintain all in-vehicle modems and devices.
• Plan, design, and implement all software systems.
• Monitor and maintain SQL databases to maximize stability and uptime.
• Evaluate, design, implement, and refine computer operating systems.
• Assist end users in resolving hardware and software issues.
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
