Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic Early Childhood Teacher to join our dedicated team at New St. Paul Head Start Agency, Inc. in Detroit. In this role, you will play a crucial part in fostering a nurturing environment that supports the growth and development of young children, while also engaging their families in the educational process.
Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging curriculum tailored to the needs of young children.
• Foster a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
• Collaborate with families to promote child development and educational success.
• Assess children's progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a positive learning atmosphere.
• Provide individualized support for children with special needs or developmental delays.
• Facilitate early intervention strategies as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of children's development and classroom activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Proven experience working with young children in an educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and practices.
• Familiarity with curriculum development and lesson planning.
• Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with children and families.
• Ability to manage classroom dynamics positively.
• Preferred: Experience in special education or early intervention programs.
