Study Skills Tutor

Description of Role

Working on a 1:1 basis with students (SpLD/ASC) to develop academic competences such as, organisation, exam preparation, research techniques, writing and memory skills. You will be promoting independent learning and empowering our students to manage their workload. Tutors will work with a student using course materials as a framework and support the needs of the student as outlined in their assessment recommendations. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

• To support allocated students on a 1:1 basis with the areas of difficulties within their academic experience. 

• To deliver focused interventions dependent on the student concerns and to build confidence and motivate your students to attend their timetabled sessions and undertake the independent study required to complete their course. 

• Keep accurate records of work done with students (3 monthly) 

• Make effective use of supervision to ensure good practice in providing safe and effective support.
