CATALYST PLANET is a next-generation travel and social action media platform for Gen Z and Millennial audiences. We publish articles, travel guides, podcasts, and multimedia content exploring international travel, climate change, human rights, sustainability, culture, and global issues. Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Copy Editor Intern to help ensure the accuracy, quality, and consistency of content across our website.

This role is ideal for a journalism, communications, English, media, international studies, or related student who enjoys editing, fact-checking, and polishing stories for publication. You will work closely with our editorial team and gain experience editing content focused on international travel, global culture, sustainability, climate issues, human rights, and social action.

Commitment: Approximately 10 hours per week
Location: Remote
Compensation: Unpaid Internship

THIS IS A ONE YEAR INTERNSHIP

Responsibilities

  • Copy edit articles prior to publication
  • Ensure content adheres to AP Style guidelines
  • Correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and formatting issues
  • Verify names, dates, statistics, locations, and other factual information
  • Fact-check sources and conduct additional research when needed
  • Review articles for clarity, consistency, and readability
  • Ensure content aligns with CATALYST PLANET editorial standards

Qualifications

  • Strong editing and proofreading skills
  • Knowledge of AP Style
  • Previous copy editing experience with a student newspaper, magazine, website, or other publication
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Ability to fact-check and conduct independent research
  • Interest in journalism, publishing, media, or digital content
  • Knowledge of international current events, global culture, international travel, sustainability, and social issues
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently in a remote environment
