Business Development Associate

PRH Private Capital is a Chicago-based investment company focused on originating and executing lower-middle-market transactions across the industrial sector.

The Business Development Associate is a front-line, high-ownership role responsible for building PRH’s top-of-funnel deal flow and supporting active transactions from first contact through close.

You will spend the majority of your time identifying targets, engaging business owners and intermediaries, booking qualified meetings for the deal team, and keeping the pipeline moving. You will also contribute to capital formation and transaction support as deals progress.

Compensation is 100% success-fee based. This structure is designed for someone who is self-directed, motivated by uncapped upside, and thrives in a small team environment.

Deal Origination — Your Primary Function

  • Build and maintain high-quality target lists.
  • Execute structured, multi-channel outreach cadences — phone, email, LinkedIn — to founders, business owners, CEOs, and operators.
  • Engage M&A brokers, boutique investment banks, regional intermediaries, and referral sources to get PRH on the short list for relevant mandates.
  • Qualify opportunities against PRH’s buy box: EBITDA threshold, industry fit, ownership transition readiness, deal structure, and timing.
  • Book qualified introductory meetings for the deal team with crisp, context-rich handoffs.
  • Coordinate early-stage process steps: NDA routing, CIM requests, data collection, and introductory call scheduling.

Pipeline and CRM Discipline

  • Maintain 100% CRM accuracy.
  • Track and report weekly funnel metrics.
  • Manage opportunity aging, follow-up sequencing, and pipeline hygiene to prevent stalls and keep active deals moving.
  • Monitor broker feeds, deal flow platforms, and market signals — news, awards, hiring trends, ownership transitions — and escalate time-sensitive opportunities to the deal team.

Transaction Support

  • Support the deal team on active opportunities by tracking diligence items, follow-up requests, process milestones, and workstream status.
  • Assist with market research, lender or co-investor outreach, deal materials, and other execution support as needed.
  • Contribute to post-close portfolio initiatives including add-on sourcing, refinancing outreach, or corporate development support tied to completed investments.

Capital Formation Support

  • Identify and engage debt and equity capital partners appropriate for specific transactions.
  • Support investor outreach, follow-up, meeting coordination, and documentation related to capital raising on live deals.
  • Maintain organized records of investor communications, introductions, and capital pipeline activity within PRH systems.
