High School Math and Science
Position Summary
Boys Home of Virginia seeks a dynamic and engaging High School Math and Science Teacher to teach a combination of high school mathematics and science courses in grades 9–12.
The ideal candidate will foster curiosity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and academic confidence through engaging instruction, hands-on learning experiences, and strong relationship-building with students. This teacher will create a structured and supportive classroom environment that reflects the mission and values of Boys Home of Virginia.
Instruction & Student Engagement
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in mathematics and science aligned with school curriculum standards.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including inquiry-based learning, hands-on activities, and real-world applications.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic needs and learning styles of students.
- Foster student participation, confidence, and collaboration through discussion, problem-solving, and interactive learning activities.
- Maintain a structured classroom environment that supports accountability, curiosity, respect, and academic growth.
Assessment & Academic Support
- Assess student learning through assignments, projects, labs, quizzes, tests, and exams.
- Provide timely feedback and support to help students improve academically.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with staff and families regarding student progress.
