Working within the ADC-governed automation intake and delivery process, this position implements approved automation solutions using the division's designated platforms, integrates disparate enterprise systems via APIs and webhooks, and supports the ongoing health and reliability of production automations. This position operates under the technical guidance of the Technical Lead of the Business Process Automation Engineering Team and in alignment with standards established by the Automation Design Committee (ADC).
Major Duties / Essential Functions
- Design and build automated workflows using approved AWS services in accordance with ADC design standards and approved intake items.
- Integrate enterprise systems including AWS services, Google Workspace, Freshservice, ClickUp, Oracle HCM, and other REST/webhook-compatible platforms through API connections, OAuth2, and API key authentication.
- Analyze and document existing manual processes to identify automation opportunities, define workflow logic, and produce design specifications for ADC review.
- Develop, test, and deploy small to medium sized containerized web applications using Angular 22 for frontend development, and Node.js 24 for backend development.
- Develop and execute test plans for automation workflows, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance validation prior to production deployment.
- Utilize AI coding tools to rapidly architect, develop, test, and deploy automations and applications.
- Implement error handling, retry logic, alerting, and monitoring within automation workflows to ensure production reliability and observability.
- Maintain thorough, accessible documentation for all automations, including workflow diagrams, integration maps, credential inventories, and operational runbooks.
- Support production automations through monitoring, incident triage, root cause analysis, and iterative improvement.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives in coordination with the Product Owner and Lead Business Process Automation Engineer.
- Collaborate with DIT teams, functional offices, and stakeholders to gather requirements, validate solutions, and communicate delivery status.
- Stay current on automation platform capabilities, API updates for integrated systems, and emerging best practices relevant to enterprise workflow automation.
