Startup Event Staff
Thinkspace is a Seattle-and-Redmond coworking and event community built for entrepreneurs, tech startups, and small businesses office space, meeting rooms, virtual offices, and a packed calendar of founder and investor events. The brand ethos is "Deeply Human. AI-Native.": a real community of people, running on the same tools the startups inside it are building.
WHY THIS ROLE IS INTERESTING
- Front-row seat to the ecosystem: Thinkspace runs events almost every week, and its event floor is where Seattle's startup and AI community actually shows up in person. This is flexible, paid work inside that community, not a warehouse shift. Investors, founders, and operators pass through the space constantly.
- Flexible around everything else: No minimum weekly commitment pick up shifts around a day job, school, or other freelance work.
- Taken care of on shift: Food and drinks are provided during every event, and parking is free after 4pm.
- A direct line to the calendar: Regular work on Thinkspace's growing event schedule, including marquee weeks like Seattle Tech Week.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Staff Thinkspace member events start to finish setup, breakdown, and everything in between.
- Welcome members and guests and help the space run smoothly for the length of the event.
- Provide basic AV support (mics, screens, streaming) where needed.
- Anticipate what members need before they have to ask the standard the Thinkspace team holds itself to.

- Personable and welcoming often the first face a guest sees
- Detail-oriented, with the instinct to catch small things before they become problems
- Reliable above all else no-shows are the single fastest way off the bench
- Professional, even-keeled attitude when an event runs long or plans change last-minute
NICE TO HAVE
- Comfort with AV/tech setup
- Photography or videography skills capturing the room is a bonus, not a requirement
- Experience in, or genuine interest in, the startup/tech ecosystem
- Prior event, hospitality, or hosting experience
COMPENSATION & DETAILS
This Role part-time, on-call hourly contractor position pays $22 to $25 per hour for shifts ranging from 4 to 8 hours—including setup and teardown, with occasional multi-day activations—and provides at least one week of notice per shift assignment.
