JOB POSTING (INTERNSHIP)

Job Title: Film  Intern 

Seeking a film  intern to assist a performing arts nonprofit organization in filming and postproduction. Thresh is searching for a creative, detail oriented, and skilled film intern to help bring a variety of projects to life. We need an intern who is passionate about the craft of video editing with a particular interest in documentary film. You will have the opportunity to work closely with our Artistic Director on the post production and development of key projects that are already co-commissioned by internationally renowned stakeholders and performance institutions. You will bring existing techniques in the latest video editing software suites, and gain valuable insight into narrative development for documentary filmmaking that brings vital stories to life for broader audiences. As an intern, you may additionally have the opportunity to assist in preparations for future projects, accompanying on film and interview locations, and camera operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or current student to gain professional experience in the field of video editing and documentary film.  If you think you have what it takes to become part of the team, we want to hear from you! Responsibilities:

  • Film interviews on location throughout the NYC area. 
  • Upload footage to company's storage drive
  • Help strategize shoots in internal meetings across Artistic, Administrative, and Marketing departments.
  • Assist in postproduction of short form video content for documentation, donor facing, social media, grant writing, and marketing purposes. 

Qualifications:

  • Student earning Associate’s, Bachelor’s or Master’s in film and/or film editing, arts administration or another relevant field
  • Prior filming/editing/sound capture experience for live events.
  • Film and/or sound equipment (dependent on applied position) and experience in use
  • Willingness to film and travel in person throughout the NYC area
  • Openness to future collaborations
  • Interest in supporting women and immigrant centered stories
  • Interest and alignment with the arts and culture
