The Ursuline School is a private, independent, Catholic, college preparatory girls’ school serving grades 6–12 in New Rochelle, located just 20 miles north of Manhattan in a diverse suburban community. Position Overview
This position involves teaching middle and/or high school social studies classes while collaborating with colleagues on curriculum planning, student support, and mentoring. The role emphasizes differentiated instruction to address diverse learning and social-emotional needs, alongside effective communication with students, parents, and administration. As an engaged school community member, the teacher will attend meetings, participate in committees, and volunteer for student supervision duties. Additionally, the position encourages ongoing professional growth through conferences, in-service training, and staying current with educational literature to enhance teaching and contribute meaningfully to faculty discussions.
Start Date: 9/1/2026
Position: Full-Time; High School (9 - 12)
Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 commensurate with background and experience
Responsibilities
● Teach middle and/or high school level social studies classes, including AP level
- Work collaboratively and professionally with subject area, grade-level, and school-wide colleagues for curriculum planning, student support, and mentoring
- Differentiate instruction to attend to the learning and social-emotional needs of students
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and administration
- Serve as a full community member by attending meetings, participating in committees, and volunteering for various duties supervising students
- Contribute constructively to all faculty discussions and continue to grow professionally (i.e. conferences, in-service training, staying current on professional literature)
Qualifications
- Passion for teaching in Catholic, faith-based education
- Master’s Degree preferred
- Minimum two (2) years of secondary teaching experience preferred
- Experience incorporating technology in support of student learning
