Job Description for SwimAmerica- Davis Seasonal Swim Instructor 2026

Job Title: SwimAmerica Fall Session 2026 Swim Instructor

Pay: $16.90 - $17.90 per hour

Employment: Part-Time Seasonal

August-September: Training 20+ hours total (Hours include online training)

Seasonal position: August 1st– December 22nd (Possibility of extension based on availability and performance)

Last day to apply: August 15th

Pay rate: $16.90-17.90 DOE

We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic individuals to coach over the course of the Fall session and beyond. Our best coaches are passionate and dedicated; they teach through technical skill, a dash of silliness, and love of the water. As always, we will fully train the correct individuals; experience is preferred but not required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Availability for the entire season: August 1st- December 22nd
  • Available weekends 8:20 am -1:20 pm
  • Available weekdays 3:20 pm – 7:20 pm
  • Passion and energy to work with children
  • Ability to accept supervision and guidance
  • Ability to direct, teach, motivate, and discipline children ages 3-13+
  • Activities in an indoor pool facility.
  • Good character, integrity, adaptability
  • Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control
  • Team Player
  • All training is paid on an hourly basis
  • Some knowledge of all 4 competitive strokes (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle)

General Responsibilities:

  • Providing swim instruction ranging from learn-to-swim to competitive swim strokes
  • Keeping 2-4 children safe, interested, and engaged throughout their lesson/your shift
  • Providing leadership and guidance to ages 3 – 13+
  • Participation in once-monthly staff meetings
  • Cooperation with the entire staff in working for the welfare of all individuals within our facility
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with other staff, supervisors, and managers
