Social Media Manager

PWR NYC | Full-Time | Upper West Side, Manhattan Salary: $50,000-$60,000 to start, with the opportunity for a pay increase after a 90 day review once you've handled ads and reporting independently (range expands to $70,000 for candidates with Meta Blueprint certification)

About PWR NYC

PWR NYC is a female founded personal training studio with two locations on the Upper West Side, West 72nd Street and West 82nd Street. We run an appointment-only model with no memberships and no contracts, offering 1-on-1 training, duets, small group sessions, and weekend classes. Training here is personal by design, with a consultation-first approach and a welcoming environment that lets clients train with confidence.

We're a small, close-knit team, and this role works closely with everyone: trainers, our Client Experience Coordinator, and the founder directly.

The Role

We're hiring this role specifically to grow the business through social, not just maintain a presence. Every piece of content and every report should tie back to bringing new clients in the door.

We're looking for a Social Media Manager to own our content and online presence across both locations. This is a hands-on role. You'll be shooting content in the gyms, editing it, and posting it. You'll also produce monthly reporting on how the content is performing.

What You'll Do

  • Plan and execute a content calendar across Instagram, TikTok, and any other relevant platforms
  • Film and edit content on-site at both West 72nd and West 82nd, working around class and session schedules
  • Make creative decisions with client acquisition top of mind, not just engagement or aesthetics
  • Build monthly social media performance reports and use that data to adjust strategy
  • Coordinate occasional weekend filming for studio events
  • Track which content and lead sources are actually turning into booked consultations, and adjust strategy based on that data
  • Work with our Client Experience Coordinator to make sure social leads get followed up on quickly
  • Build out content specific to each location to drive walk-ins and local awareness for both West 72nd and West 82nd. West 82nd is our established location with a loyal client base, while West 72nd is newer and still building name recognition in that part of the neighborhood, so content strategy should reflect where each one is at
  • Develop a referral or UGC strategy that gets current clients posting and tagging us
  • Represent the studio at community events and partnerships that build local visibility
  • Stay current on platform trends and bring new content formats to the team
  • Handle the general day-to-day of running a studio's social presence: community management, captions, stories, trainer spotlights, client testimonials, and anything else that comes with the territory
  • Design and send a monthly newsletter, along with email blasts as needed, using Canva. Content for these will be provided, this role owns the design and send, not the writing

What We're Looking For

  • Experience managing social media for a business, ideally in fitness, wellness, or a similar consumer space
  • A track record of using social content to actually drive leads and bookings, not just grow followers
  • Strong photo and video skills, including shooting and editing on your phone
  • Meta advertising experience is a plus, and a Meta Blueprint certification is a big plus (qualifies for the expanded pay range)
  • Comfortable working independently and making creative calls without heavy oversight
  • A flexible schedule, including the ability to film during the week at both locations and occasionally on weekends for events
  • Strong writing skills and a good eye for what makes content actually convert, not just look nice
  • Comfortable with tools like Canva, CapCut, and Meta Business Suite, along with a content scheduling platform
  • Comfortable working as part of a small team where you'll interact with everyone from trainers to the founder

Details

  • Full-time, W-2 position based on the Upper West Side, with remote flexibility when you're not filming, at events, or on-site
  • Salary range of $50,000-$60,000 to start, plus bonuses for new clients acquired through your content and campaigns
  • Opportunity for a pay increase after a 90 day review once you've handled ads and reporting independently
  • Range expands to $70,000 for candidates with Meta Blueprint certification
  • We cover 25% of your health insurance
  • Reports directly to the founder
  • Room to grow into a broader marketing role as the studio expands
  • Starting ASAP
