Social Media Intern

Social Media & Content Intern

Never Say Die Bourbon | Lexington, Kentucky
Part-Time | 8–15 Hours/Week | Flexible Schedule
Start: As soon as possible
Initial Term: Through December 20, 2026
Compensation: $1,250 Guaranteed Stipend + Up to $750 in Additional Bonuses

Never Say Die Bourbon is looking for a Social Media & Content Intern to help build the social media presence of our new Brand Home in downtown Lexington.

Our experience space will include a 1950s-style British library, a racetrack-shaped tasting table, and a rickhouse-styled barrel room, all built for guests who want to taste, learn, and take something home they can't get anywhere else.

This isn't an internship where you'll spend the semester shadowing a marketing team or handling miscellaneous tasks. We're a small team, and we're looking for someone who wants real creative responsibility.

We'll provide the brand direction, access, feedback, and final approval. You'll help figure out how to bring it to life on social media.

Responsibilities

Periodically visit the Never Say Die Brand Home to capture photos and video and turn what's happening into content.

That includes:

  • Shooting short-form video and photography
  • Creating and editing Instagram Reels and Stories
  • Writing captions
  • Developing recurring content ideas
  • Maintaining a consistent visual identity and brand voice
  • Finding interesting stories and moments rather than waiting to be told exactly what to post

Instagram will be the primary focus, with strong content adapted for Facebook and TikTok where appropriate.

Also:

  • Maintain a simple content calendar
  • Help determine what and when we should post
  • Publish approved content
  • Track basic performance and identify what content is working

In a typical week, we expect approximately 2–3 Instagram feed posts/Reels, Stories when there's something worth sharing, and adapted Facebook/TikTok content where appropriate.

Content Opportunities

Help document the launch of a new bourbon destination from the beginning.

Content may include:

  • Behind-the-scenes construction and buildout
  • Bourbon and cocktail content
  • Distillery setup and production
  • Pub and tour previews
  • Merchandise
  • Opening announcements
  • Events, promotions, and guest experiences

Some weeks will have more happening than others. Part of the role is recognizing what's worth turning into content.

Who We're Looking For

We're much more interested in what you can create than what's on your résumé.

You should be comfortable:

  • Shooting quality smartphone photo and video
  • Editing Reels and short-form video
  • Understanding pacing, hooks, and basic short-form storytelling
  • Writing natural social media copy
  • Recognizing visually interesting content
  • Working independently and bringing your own ideas

Professional experience managing a business account is not required.

Experience from personal projects, student organizations, clubs, fraternities or sororities, freelance work, or other creative projects is completely relevant.

Schedule & Time Commitment

The role is expected to average approximately 8–15 hours per week through December 20, 2026.

There are no required office hours.

You'll need to periodically visit the Brand Home at 249 W Short St. in downtown Lexington to capture content.

Most planning, editing, writing, and scheduling can be completed remotely around your class or work schedule.

We'll have a brief regular check-in to discuss priorities, upcoming content opportunities, and anything you need from us.

Compensation

$1,250 guaranteed semester stipend + up to $750 in additional bonuses

Additional compensation will reward consistent execution and strong performance.

If the partnership is successful, there may also be an opportunity to continue in a larger paid role as the Brand Home opens and the social media program grows.

How to Apply

Send us a short introduction to hiring@neversaydiebourbon.com telling us who you are, what you're doing now, and why this opportunity interests you.

More importantly, show us what you can create.

Send examples of social media content, photography, videos, Reels, TikToks, accounts you've managed, or other creative work you're proud of.

Bonus points: Send us 2–3 ideas for how you would introduce the Never Say Die Brand Home to Lexington on Instagram.
