Health Educator

RICHLAND PUBLIC HEALTH  JOB OPPORTUNITY

Division: Community Health

Position: Health Educator

Pay Grade: 18

Salary: $25.63 per hour (37 hours per week)

Shift Times: Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs (8:00 am to 4:30 pm) 

                   Friday (8:00 am to 4:00 pm). May include evenings and weekends.

 

Nationally accredited, Richland Public Health is seeking qualified candidates with a passion for community involvement and health education. Must be able to assess, create, plan, implement, and evaluate evidence-based health education and promotion programs to make a positive impact in Richland County.

General Statement of Duties (include but are not limited to):

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate health education programs.
  • Administer public health education and promotion strategies on various health topics.
  • Conduct presentations on a variety of health topics to diverse populations represented in Richland County.
  • Shall maintain a current working knowledge of all programs and services available through Richland Public Health.     
  • Shall develop and implement marketing/promotional/public relations and educational programs for specific projects as assigned.
  • Participate in community health fairs and other events.

Required education, experience, and training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Community/Public Health Education, Health Education, Health Promotion, Nursing, Public Administration, or other related degrees.
  • Three (3) years of public health-related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of the core functions and essential services of public health.
  • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain a current and valid Ohio Driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
