Gap Year Paralegal — Criminal Defense & PFA Practice
Are you planning to attend law school and looking for meaningful, hands-on legal experience before you go? Saadzoi Law is seeking a motivated Gap Year Paralegal to join our criminal defense and Protection From Abuse (PFA) practice in downtown Media, PA.
About the Role
This is an ideal opportunity for a recent college graduate to gain real courtroom exposure and substantive legal experience prior to law school. You'll work directly with attorneys on active criminal defense and PFA matters, learning the practical realities of litigation from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Draft and organize legal documents, motions, and correspondence
- Conduct legal research on criminal law and PFA proceedings
- Manage case files, discovery, and evidence tracking
- Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
- Assist attorneys with trial and hearing preparation
- Attend court proceedings and observe hearings
- Maintain case calendars and deadlines
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Strong writing, research, and organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Interest in criminal defense and/or family law
- Prior internship or paralegal experience a plus, but not required
