Content Creator & Social Media Manager

HELLO SHADE® is looking for a creative, social-media-obsessed Content Creator & Social Media Manager to help grow our brand through content that gets attention — and converts.

This is a hands-on, local role. You’ll work directly with the founder to brainstorm, film, edit, and publish content across Instagram and TikTok. Some days we’ll be filming product content, some days founder-led content, some days street interviews or events, and sometimes we’ll see something ridiculous and decide it needs to become a Reel immediately.

We’re looking for someone who understands what makes people stop scrolling, knows current social trends, and can turn ideas into engaging short-form content without needing a detailed playbook every time.

What you’ll do:

• Film and edit Reels, TikToks, Stories, and other short-form content
• Come with the founder to shoots, events, pop-ups, and other content opportunities
• Brainstorm creative concepts, hooks, trends, and campaigns
• Help manage the HELLO SHADE social media presence and content calendar
• Turn raw footage and everyday brand moments into compelling content
• Write social copy and calls-to-action
• Pay attention to performance and learn what content actually drives engagement, traffic, and sales
• Help us test, learn, and create more of what works

You might be perfect for this if:

You’re naturally creative, chronically aware of what’s happening on social media, comfortable filming on an iPhone, and know your way around editing tools like CapCut. You have good taste, strong instincts, and aren’t afraid to pitch weird ideas.

You should be comfortable working with a founder-led brand and moving quickly. We care much more about creativity, initiative, and what you can make than having a perfectly polished résumé.

LOCATION IS IMPORTANT: You must live in North County San Diego and be able to regularly meet in person in the Carlsbad area. Please do not apply if you are looking for a fully remote social media position.

Bonus points if you already create content of your own or can show us examples of Reels/TikToks you’ve filmed or edited.

Most importantly: we want someone who wants to help build something — not just post three times a week.
