Biomedical Equipment Support Technician (Brooklyn, NY)

MedServ Marketplace is a flexible, project-based platform — often described as the “Uber for Biomed Techs” — that connects skilled BMETs, field engineers, and semi-skilled technicians with health systems, ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs), and OEMs for high-impact assignments.

We are currently staffing a certified field service engagement to support a clinic location in Brooklyn, NY. This project delivers comprehensive equipment testing, calibration, functional safety verification, and digital compliance logging to prepare all sites for an upcoming Joint Commission (JCAHO) accreditation survey.

Project Dates: Nov 1, 2026 – Oct 31, 2027 (Approximately 5–7 days, including weekend/weekday coordination)

Term: 12-Month Contract (Effective Nov 1, 2026 – Oct 31, 2027)

Schedule: Part-Time / Flexible On-Demand Dispatch & Scheduled PM Windows

Location: Brooklyn, NY (Onsite Clinic)

We welcome certified BMETs, experienced field service technicians, and clinical engineering professionals with direct expertise in sterile processing equipment and surgical suite infrastructure.

Role Overview

Technicians will execute OEM-compliant preventive maintenance, annual safety calibrations, and functional verifications across general primary care devices, clinical monitoring tools, and specialized outpatient equipment.

Primary Responsibilities:

Onsite Testing & Calibration: Perform annual NIST-traceable safety testing, calibration, and sticker tagging for primary care equipment including Blood Pressure Cuffs, Pulse Oximeters, EKG Machines, Otoscope/Ophthalmoscope ENT Kits, Thermometers, Scale/Height Machines, Exam Beds, Office AEDs, and Medication Refrigerators.

Specialized Asset Inspection: Conduct functional verifications and electrical safety checks on specialized psychiatric and diagnostic assets (TMS units, EEGs) present at select West Coast locations.

Functional Safety Verifications: Perform lightweight functional testing for newly installed or lower-complexity devices to provide cost-effective compliance verification.

Compliance & Digital Logging: Complete thorough Field Service Reports (FSRs) and issue individual Calibration Certificates (including tool calibration dates and performance evaluation results) via the MedServ Portal to ensure 100% audit-readiness for Joint Commission standards.

Defect Reporting & Parts Coordination: Identify necessary repairs, battery replacements, or component wear prior to service execution and provide structured feedback to facility operations.

Compensation

  • Rate: $65 – $110 / hour (Commensurate with experience and location/travel requirements)
