Junior Fund Analyst

Leargas Capital ("Leargas") is a boutique alternative asset manager of institutional capital focused on investment opportunities across U.S. and international mortality-linked markets. Based in Westport, Connecticut, Leargas is expanding its entrepreneurial team as the business continues to scale.

The Junior Fund Analyst will support the senior team across asset management, data analysis, AI-enabled process development, and occasional acquisition due diligence. The role offers direct and frequent exposure working with the CEO and senior decision-makers, along with learning how an alternative investment manager evaluates, monitors, and improves their portfolio.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and review active investments, identify key developments, and support asset-management decisions.
  • Aggregate and analyze data from multiple sources to maintain risk and performance dashboards and prepare executive-level reporting.
  • Help build and implement AI-enabled tools & workflows to enhance asset management and due diligence.
  • Assist with diligence on potential fund acquisitions and synthesize findings for senior management.
  • Maintain and improve data aggregation, data infrastructure, and analytics processes.
  • Effectively manage relationships with external counterparties

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, accounting, economics, or a related field; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience; finance internships, applicable coursework, or student investment experience are valued.

SKILLS

  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with a working understanding of investment metrics such as NPV and IRR.
  • Balanced skill profile: quantitative skills are complimented by communication and people skills
  • Advanced Excel proficiency required; experience with SQL, Python, VBA, or AI tools is helpful but not required.
