Social Media Intern
About Frequency
Frequency is the engine behind the modern street team. We build and run networks of theme-based accounts across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube for the world's biggest record labels and artists - every account built and operated in-house, distributing original content that reaches fans the algorithm wouldn't otherwise surface.
Do you love social media? Do you live on TikTok? Have you ever wondered what an artist's audience actually looks like under the hood - who they are, where they are, and why a video takes off?
What You'll Do
- Warm and grow themed TikTok accounts: daily scroll-and-engage sessions (liking, following, commenting, curating the feed) inside specific music niches, so each account behaves like a real fan before content ever posts.
- Dive into artist demographics: pull audience data across our account network and turn it into simple, readable insights - who's listening, where, and what's converting.
- Support short-form content ops: organize assets, track posting performance, and document workflows.
- Report weekly on trends and account health.
What You'll Learn
- How short-form algorithms actually distribute music content, from the operator side.
- Audience analytics for real artist campaigns - the same data labels use to make marketing decisions.
- How a scaled social distribution network is built and run, end to end.
- Professional reporting and workflow documentation.
What We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled and eligible to receive academic credit for this internship (required - we'll complete whatever verification your school needs).
- Genuinely fluent in TikTok culture - you already know what a good hook looks like.
- Organized, consistent, and comfortable with repetitive-but-important daily work.
- Interest in music, marketing, or the music business. Coursework in music business, marketing, or communications is a plus, not a requirement.
Details
- Fall 2026 semester (~12 weeks, flexible to your academic calendar)
- ~10 hours/week, flexible scheduling
- Remote (Nashville-area hybrid optional)
- Unpaid, for academic credit
- Supervisor: Eric Garcia, Founder
