Copywriter—Healthcare/Pharmaceutical Marketing
C&A Digital, an award-winning digital marketing agency in White Plains, NY, is seeking a detail-oriented copywriter to support editorial and quality-control workstreams across our pharmaceutical and healthcare marketing accounts. This role sits close to the medical/legal/regulatory (MLR) review process—the work is precise, high-volume, and deadline-driven. Candidates who thrive on accuracy, cross-referencing, and consistency will do well here. This is a hybrid position that requires 3 days a week in our beautiful White Plains office, and two days that are remote.
Key Responsibilities
- Annotate promotional and medical materials (slide decks, emails, leave-behinds, value proposition decks, messaging decks, disease-state deck, pre-approval information exchange decks) for MLR submission, per agency and brand style guides.
- Build reference citation lists and fully highlighted reference packs, ensuring every annotated claim in the piece is traceable to and matches its supporting source document.
- Prep final job packages for medical/legal/regulatory review, ensuring formatting, citation style (AMA Manual of Style), and file organization meet submission standards.
- Route and track review comments/changes across multiple stakeholders (medical, legal, regulatory, brand), and maintain a clear audit trail of what changed and why.
- Maintain consistency of approved claims, terminology, and messaging across all jobs for a given brand—flagging discrepancies before they reach MLR.
- Cross-check word-for-word accuracy of Important Safety Information (ISI)/fair balance language against approved source documents.
- Collaborate with creative, account, and production teams to keep multiple concurrent jobs on schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfort working with structured annotation and reference-matching workflows (training provided, but prior exposure is a plus).
- Ability to follow detailed style guides (agency, brand, and AMA Manual of Style) with high consistency.
- Strong organizational skills—able to manage several jobs/brands at once without losing track of version or status.
- Clear, professional written English communication for routing comments and status updates to US-based teams.
- Reliable availability that overlaps with US Eastern Time business hours for review handoffs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong English language proficiency
- Prior experience in healthcare/pharmaceutical marketing, medical communications, or regulated-industry copywriting/editing (eg, MLR, USRC, or similar review environments).
- Familiarity with AMA citation style and pharmaceutical fair-balance/ISI conventions.
- Experience annotating PDFs (eg, Adobe Acrobat, in PowerPoint speaker notes).
- Experience with payer, HCP, or patient-facing pharmaceutical content.
Tools
- Adobe Acrobat (PDF annotation/markup)
- Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Basic familiarity with shared drives/asset management systems (training provided)
