Program & Research Intern

Position Overview

The Program & Research Intern plays a central role in supporting Network 20/20's core programming, including the Virtual Briefing Series, Salon Series, Virtual Salon Series, Deep Dives. This intern will conduct speaker and topic research, help produce promotional and event materials, support events from planning through follow-up, and maintain accurate program records. The role also includes a membership support component and general administrative duties. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in foreign policy, nonprofit program management, and event coordination to gain hands-on experience at a small, mission-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities

Program (approx. 80%)

  • Research potential speakers and topics for the Virtual Briefing Series, Virtual Salon Series, and Salon Series
  • Create promotional materials for each event using Canva
  • Draft roadmaps/outlines for briefing conversations and prepare back-up questions for speakers
  • Take notes during events, including timestamps and highlights.
  • Attend all in-person and virtual events and support event preparations
  • Log participant attendance in our CRM system and maintain accurate records
  • Update Virtual Briefing tracking spreadsheets in OneDrive and Google Drive

Membership (approx. 10%)

  • Monitor the general information inbox
  • Reply to relevant emails and inquiries, including membership payment notifications, donation payments, general inquiries, and non-member requests

Administrative (approx. 10%)

  • Provide general administrative support across all Network 20/20 programs as needed

Qualifications

  • Passion for and understanding of international affairs
  • Previous internship or related experience conducting research and presenting findings is a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; experience working across cultures
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Good understand of Excel to clean and analyze data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Comfortable working independently and managing multiple tasks/deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail, good organizational abilities, and general office skills 
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Available to attend in-person events as needed, in addition to regular office hours
