About Tank Track

Tank Track is a multi-tenant vertical SaaS platform built for the waste services industry — septic pumping, grease trap, and portable restroom service companies. Our software runs the day-to-day operations of businesses whose end users are frequently non-tech-literate field technicians and dispatchers, which means we care deeply about building software that's simple, fast, and forgiving in the real world, not just in a demo.

We're a small, senior team, which means as a new grad here you won't be lost in a large org — you'll ship real features, own real systems, and work directly with the people making product and technical decisions.

About the Role

We're hiring a Member of Technical Staff to join our engineering team as we grow the platform. This is a generalist software engineering role: you'll work across our web app, our React Native mobile app for field technicians, and our backend services, all built on a modern TypeScript/Node.js stack (Prisma/MySQL, BullMQ/Redis, AWS ECS, Cloudflare Workers/R2), depending on what the team needs most. There's plenty of green-field work here — new features, new infrastructure, and real ownership from day one.

This role is aimed at recent university graduates (or those about to graduate) who want to learn fast, take on real ownership early, and work on a product with a genuine, tangible impact on the businesses that use it.

What You'll Work On

  • Building and shipping features across our TypeScript/Node.js backend, React web app, and React Native (Expo) mobile app
  • Working with our data layer (Prisma/MySQL) and background job infrastructure (BullMQ/Redis)
  • Helping build and refine tools for non-technical end users — septic operators, dispatchers, and field technicians
  • Collaborating directly with senior engineers and leadership on product and technical decisions
  • Working across the stack as needed — this is a small team, so you'll get exposure to infrastructure (AWS ECS, Cloudflare Workers/R2), payments, and more

What We're Looking For

  • A recent (or upcoming) graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Solid fundamentals in at least one modern language — coursework, internships, or personal projects are all valid proof
  • Genuine curiosity about how software systems work end-to-end, not just the part you're assigned
  • Comfort with ambiguity — you'll be given problems, not just tickets, and asked to help figure out the right solution
  • Strong communication skills — on a small team, you'll need to explain your thinking clearly and ask good questions
  • A bias toward shipping and iterating over over-engineering

Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Exposure to TypeScript/Node.js, React, or React Native
  • Familiarity with SQL databases and ORMs (e.g., Prisma)
  • Any experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Cloudflare, or similar)
  • Personal projects, open-source contributions, or internships that show initiative
