Elementary School Counselor

11-Month Probationary Position, effective October 2026

Queensbury School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Counselor to join our Elementary School team. This position provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional growth.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Location: Elementary School
  • Position: 11-Month, Probationary Appointment
  • Start Date: October 2026
  • Salary: Minimum $57,480 (prorated); actual salary based on education and experience
  • Certification: NYS School Counselor certification required

The School Counselor works with students, families, teachers, administrators, and staff to promote student success and a positive school environment. Responsibilities include:

  • Individual and group counseling
  • Social-emotional support and skill development
  • Academic guidance and planning
  • Conflict resolution and crisis intervention
  • Collaboration with families, teachers, and school staff
  • Using student strengths, needs, and interests to guide development
