Position Overview:
Are you passionate about construction and eager to develop your career in project management? CSIG is seeking an Apprentice Project Manager to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to learn the ropes of project management in the construction industry. You will be mentored by skilled professionals, preparing you to manage your own renovation projects and handle your own crews. In this role, you'll also have the opportunity to wear multiple hats, gaining experience in all aspects of the renovation process, from evaluating and acquiring properties to completing the final punch list. You will gain experience in construction while working towards your General Contractors license.
While the role is hybrid, expect to spend a significant portion of your week in the field. Site visits, property walkthroughs and on-site oversight are central to the job, and regular driving between locations across Georgia is part of the routine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of residential renovation projects.
- Learn the hands-on processes and skills associated with housing rehab.
- Take an active role in property evaluation and acquisition: walk prospective properties, assess condition and rehab potential, and contribute to decisions about which properties CSIG pursues.
- Assist in auction preparation, including researching properties and helping secure acquisitions.
- Participate in pre-project estimation, learning from experienced professionals to determine project scope and costs.
- Assist in identifying and onboarding contractors, ensuring they meet CSIG's quality and performance standards.
- Collaborate with contractors, suppliers, and team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Learn and use project management tools and software such as Airtable to track progress and manage resources.
- Travel frequently within Georgia to visit job sites, evaluate properties, and oversee on-site activities.
Qualifications:
- Recent graduate of a university, trade school, or possess experience in construction work.
- A strong interest in hands-on construction tasks and a desire to learn the intricacies of project management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel frequently within Georgia, with regular driving to job sites.
- Knowledge of construction processes and tools is preferred.
