Transportation Traffic Engineer

VHB’s growing Orlando team needs an early career Transportation Traffic Engineer to join our Transportation group. Responsibilities
  • Working within a team of professionals in developing traffic and transportation planning and engineering solutions for a multitude of transportation projects
  • Traffic impact studies
  • Accident studies
  • Signal, Signing and Pavement Marking and Lighting design
  • Transportation planning analyses
  • Signal Retiming
  • Research and interpret transportation data, community statistics, and demographics
  • Prepare written planning documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports
  • Traffic data collection and tabulation
  • Intersection and roadway level of service analyses
  • Development, analysis, and evaluation of traffic improvements
  • Design of traffic control devices
  • Roadway, work zone traffic, and intersection design

Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master’s Degree in Transportation Engineering a plus)
  • 0-3 years of civil / transportation engineering/planning experience
  • Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation a plus
  • Experience with VISSIM, Aimsun, Synchro or HCS a plus
  • Experience with ArcGIS a plus
