Project Inspector

True Inspection Services, LLC (TIS) is currently seeking Project Inspectors for heavy highway and structural projects. Ideal candidates will be motivated individuals with varying levels of experience on transportation construction projects. Projects may include paving, roadway, utility, bridge or heavy highway construction. Our project experience includes inspection of asphalt and concrete roadways, bridge construction and rehabilitation and coating inspection services. Responsibilities:
  • Conduct field inspections and observations for bridge and/or heavy highway construction projects.
  • Complete and maintain daily records of field observations.
  • Read and interpret plans, specifications, and standards.
  • Perform material sampling and testing on applicable materials.
  • Assist other project management staff with identifying problems and developing viable solutions for consideration.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Valid drivers’ license
  • Previous inspection experience
  • Technological proficiency
  • Ability to routinely bend, kneel, climb, lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to work in variable weather conditions; including hot/cold, humid/wet, and dry/arid conditions.
Minimum Education:
  • High School diploma or GED in combination with NICET Highway Construction Level II certification/willingness to obtain NICET Highway Construction Level II OR
  • Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology or Construction Management
OR
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from a program accredited by ABET or a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management accredited by ACCE (American Council for Construction Education).
Desired Certifications:* (True Inspection Services will assist candidates in identifying and obtaining the necessary certifications)*
  • NICET Highway Construction Level I or II
  • ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician- Grade I
  • Ohio Aggregate Technician
  • ODOT Flexible Pavement
  • ODOT Traffic Work Zone Safety
  • ODOT Advanced Structures Test
  • ODOT Prequalified Project Inspector
  • ODOT Prequalified Project Structure Inspector
