International Trade & Development - Internship (Remote & In-Person Opportunities)

BCIU is proud to offer internship opportunities for college students during the Spring, Summer and Fall semesters.

At BCIU, you will obtain experience with working with the private sector, governments and international organizations. Internships offer responsibilities such as research, writing, communications, and material preparation. Additional tasks include research on trade, technical and economic trends globally.

Launched in 1955 as a White House initiative under President Eisenhower, the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU) is a non-partisan, results-focused facilitator of dialogue and alliances between the world’s businesses and political leaders. With members from more than 150 world-leading companies, BCIU provides an ongoing forum for senior business executives to interact with heads of state/government, cabinet ministers, and senior government officials. BCIU brokers contacts and organizes custom-tailored events, briefings and off-the-record discussions so that stakeholders may speak candidly about core issues in a direct and timely manner, enabling resolution of problems and promotion of business opportunities in both the private and public sectors of the global marketplace.

College students currently enrolled in a graduate program or an undergraduate program are eligible. Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifying students must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong computer research skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; be a self starter; and have strong organizational and time management skills. In addition, candidate must demonstrate an interest in international relations, government affairs, Or U.S. trade/development/financing.

This remote internship requires students to be able to devote the equivalent to at least two or more days per week towards the internship. Students may be in any location, but must be available to work during EST business hours.

Students may receive course credit for the internship, and/or staff will work with the school/advisor on achieving desired learning outcomes and completing all necessary paperwork.
