Nonprofit Database Management Internship

The Nonprofit Database Management Intern will work directly with the Database Manager. Interns must commit a minimum of 10 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Some weekend work is expected, according to special events throughout the year. Since this is an unpaid internship, interns are encouraged to earn academic credit for this experience. Please consult with your faculty advisor.

Intern duties will include data entry; cleaning up and maintaining the donor database maintenance, which consists of merging duplicate constituent records, updating constituent records, linking relationship records, and entering donor gifts; importing attributes, notes, and actions into constituent records; assisting with monthly membership reporting and analysis; integrating constituents between Point of Sale system and donor database; and other projects as needed.

Major projects will include working with site staff to identify and update all HBMS volunteer constituent records, importing tours and programming data into the donor database for analysis of single ticket buyers, survey distribution and recaps, e-commerce, and formally documenting processes and procedures in data entry, collection, and analysis.

Interns will gain experience with data entry, analysis, clean up, and management in a non-profit setting and will develop skills in database management, Raiser’s Edge, and Excel.

Check with your Internship Coordinator BEFORE accepting to determine how you might do this internship for credit.
