Wealth Management - Paraplanner

Mission: Support and assist wealth management teams in their efforts to provide proactive and meticulous personal finance advice. The duties of this position are essential for the wealth management teams to have productive review meetings with clients while making sure clients maintain and improve their financial well-being. The Paraplanner is a versatile role for the firm that requires attention to detail and completion of responsibilities in a timely manner.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Create and update net worth statements. Run investment portfolio performance reports. Setup template documents for client review meetings. Help draft client agendas. Create or update supporting documents such as college savings or life insurance needs analysis.
  • Contact the client and their other professional advisors (CPA’s, attorneys, insurance professionals, etc.) to gather information, send meeting reminders or make inquiries. Follow up on outstanding questions regarding a client’s financial situation.
  • Review financial planning checklists, past meeting records and pending tasks to make sure all topics are addressed for a client in a timely manner. Communicate with members of the wealth management teams on a regular basis to prepare for upcoming meetings while monitoring each client’s financial situation.
  • Assign tasks and workflows to client service, investment and financial planning team members for specific client needs.
  • Assist with all aspects of developing new business and onboarding a new client, including data collection and tracking missing information.
  • Provide support to other departments for research projects or data entry.

Critical Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree with demonstrated academic achievements
  • Understanding of personal finance or investment concepts
  • Desire to obtain the CFP designation
  • Work well both independently and with a team
  • Commitment to professionalism that meets or exceeds client expectations
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and deepen client relationships
  • Excellent problem solving and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office products – Word, Excel and PowerPoint
