Digital Editor

The Digital Editor ensures that the State 23 Media digital properties are accurate, engaging, and adhere to each individual publication’s editorial vision. Publications include Maine magazine and Maine Home + Design.

Manage digital properties including websites (4 URLs), Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest; assist with production and sales of digital advertising products; develop strategies for increased traffic and followers to our digital platforms; translate our print content to the digital platform in a way that maintains our editorial vision and engages our online audience; and create digital-only content that serves as an additional resource to our followers and readers.

Responsabilities:
·      Uploading and managing all digital content
·      Creating strategies across all platforms that highlight our print publication while providing engaging, original content to our online audience
·      Assigning and editing digital-only freelance stories each month
·      Writing digital-only stories each month
·      Scheduling and posting every day on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram (8-10 posts/day), including the paid social media posts, and implementing Instagram story strategy
·      Increasing reach across all platforms
·      Implementing and curating all paid social media advertising
·      Coordinating with editorial team to promote and plan roll out of internal promotions
·      Monitoring and providing reporting and metrics across platforms
·      Working with the Creative Director to improve websites through redesign, and ensuring a consistent and strong brand is maintained
·      Optimizing stories for desktop and mobile platforms, including SEO
·      Creating new and innovative editorial content to increase newsletter subscribers
·      Writing and sending out all editorial newsletters (approx. 10/month)
·      Creating templates for all email campaigns
·      Working with Creative Director to create plans for video content, including freelance personnel, themes, and rollout strategy
