Research Technician - Shen Lab

Scripps Research is currently seeking a Research Technician for its Florida campus in the laboratory of Dr. Ben Shen.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • The technician will be expected to perform routine scientific tasks related to microbial natural products in an academic laboratory setting.
  • The technician will be expected to work independently and as part of a team to revive, grow, and harvest various bacteria, isolate genomic DNA, and other routine tasks including operating standard lab equipment of moderate complexity, data recording, and performing other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • The position requires a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, biotechnology, or microbiology; and up to one (1) year of related experience. Three (3) to six (6) years of related laboratory experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Additional requirements include strong work ethic and motivation, attention to detail, and organizational skills.

Florida and Palm Beach County residents preferred.
