LEAD Rotational Program Associate

LRP is a three-year development program that offers MBA, MPA, MA, and MPP graduates paid, full-time employment that provides on-the job learning and experience for senior-level positions in the organization. Three, one-year rotational assignments expose LRP associates to Red Cross culture, operational management. and an enterprise-wide perspective to build leadership capabilities. LRP associates also participate in the Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) program, joining two dozen, high-potential Red Cross leaders for intensive leadership development, coaching, mentoring, and access to senior and executive leaders across the organization.

Success Profile for LRP Applicant:
  • Spring 2022 MBA, MPA, MA, MPP or other graduate degree candidate; nonprofit management a plus
  • 3-5 years of work experience prior to returning to graduate school preferred
  • Willingness and ability to relocate if needed

Skills, Experience, and Competencies
  • Exceptional communication, customer service, project management, and interpersonal skills are a must
  • Interest in leading various operational components of a large nonprofit organization
  • Proven ability to navigate complex, matrixed organizations
  • Experience leading teams or significant projects
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment

LRP Assignment Opportunities focus on developing programs and delivering services in these areas:

  • Disaster Cycle Services: From small house fires to multi-state natural disasters, goes wherever needed to provide clean water, safe shelter, and hot meals when people need them most
  • Biomedical Services: Collects, tests, and provides approximately 40% of the nation's lifesaving blood and blood products
  • Training Services: Provides training and skills needed to prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies (e.g., CPR and first aid)
  • International Services: With other Red Cross Red Crescent teams, responds to emergencies, helps neighborhoods prepare for future disasters, and ensures that children receive vaccines • Service to the Armed Forces: Helps members of the military, veterans, and their families prepare for, cope with, and respond to the challenges of military service
  • National Headquarters: Includes corporate functions and services such as Human Resources, Marketing and Communications, Finance, Diversity and Inclusion, and Information Technology
