Overview:
Accountant position at a small accounting firm in Newton, MA with summer Fridays off. Will work on a team with other accountants and CPAs providing high quality service to a variety of clients.
Responsibilities:
Prepare federal and state individual, trust, partnership and corporate tax returns.
Tax research and analysis.
Respond to client inquires, Internal Revenue Service, State and Local tax notices.
Assistance maintaining books and records and preparation of bank and credit card reconciliations, etc.
Assist with the preparation of monthly/quarterly and yearly financial reports.
Correspond with clients to gather information, answer inquiries and provide deliverables.
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field.
2+ years' experience in accounting or tax preferred.
Advanced technical knowledge of tax concepts and the ability to apply these services to various client situations.
Team-oriented work style.
Proactive.
Excellent communication skills; well-developed interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to manage a variety of tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines.
Work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
Knowledge in applicable software applications including Quickbooks and (ideally) CCH Profx systems.
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel and Word.
Adhere to high confidentiality and fiduciary standards.
 
Full Job Description
This role is responsible for managing a variety of clients and responsible for the accounting and tax work related to these clients. Clients include small to medium sized businesses, international companies, CEOs, CFOs and other dynamic entrepreneurs in many different industries.  The person will work in a collaborative environment along side the Partners and other members of the team. Responsibilities include bookkeeping work in Quickbooks, making journal entries, financial statement preparation and preparing tax returns. Work will include all entities types: individuals, estates, trusts, partnerships and corporations.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
