Legal Assistant 4

Opportunity
 
Legal Assistant 4 will provide the legal department with support on issues involving the operation of its foreign offices, litigation, compliance matters and risk analysis. Assist in administrative tasks for legal department.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
 
  • Research and help identify local counsel who can provide advice on employment matters and manage litigation in country. Solicit cost and service proposals from such firms and advise on the selection of the local firm.  
  • Draft and assemble legal documentation. Secure Abt notarized signatures when necessary, secure the authentication and apostille of documentation and transmit them to the field.  
  • Conduct legal research and write memoranda on the findings with supervision from other team members.
  • Manage local counsel on various matters, and act as link between client and local counsel.    
  • Maintain legal data base and legal resources on shared drives and sharepoint sites.
  • Manage process for legal team to provide input on departmental risk reviews.
  • Support project manager on policy development

Preferred Skills / Prerequisites
 
Excellent research, writing and communication skills. Attention to detail. The ability to envision and complete a multistep process involving numerous stakeholders. Comfort with frequent international electronic and telephonic communication. French language proficiency is a plus as is a background or interest in foreign culture, international development and the legal profession.

Minimum Qualifications
 
BA OR the equivalent combination of education and experience. In cases of internal promotion, an exception may be made to the minimum requirements based on company needs and the proven ability of the incumbent to perform the key roles and responsibilities of this position.
