Overview

A full-time Research Assistant II (RA) position is available in Dr. Jon Houck's laboratory at the Mind Research Network. The RA will work as part of a team on grant-funded studies examining cognitive and psychiatric function in aging. The RA will be responsible for clinical interactions (recruiting, screening, and scheduling research participants), data collection, administration of non-invasive brain stimulation (i.e., transcranial direct current stimulation), neuroimaging data collection, laboratory processing of participant samples (e.g., blood, saliva), data entry, data analyses, compliance with human research regulations, and other duties as needed. As this position involves working as part of a research team, as well as working with sensitive populations, applicants should have strong communication and interpersonal skills. This is an on-site and in-person role. This is a temporary position scheduled to end on April 30, 2022.
 
This is a PRN position and not eligible for benefits. 


Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related research field and 6 months or more of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities and have been attained.
 
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals. Strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work independently and as a part of a team. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office, as well as the ability to learn department-specific computer systems as needed.
 
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a background check.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

Experience administering transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) in a human cognitive neuroscience research laboratory is preferred.
Experience as a research assistant in human cognitive neuroscience laboratory research is preferred.
Master of Science degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related research field is preferred

Salary

Salary is commensurate with experience.
