Grant Writing/Fundraising Internship

Founded in 1877, Community Work Services (CWS) helps people who face barriers to work obtain employment and achieve self-sufficiency through innovative job training, placement, and support services.
 
In support of its comprehensive programs and services, CWS is seeking a Grant Writing/Fundraising intern to assist with different fundraising initiatives. Candidates should have an interest in nonprofit/business development, communications, human services, and workforce training and development. In addition, candidates should be highly organized and self-motivated, have excellent oral and written communication skills, highly developed time-management skills, ability to juggle multiple projects at once, and the ability to work independently or on a team.
 
Please note, this is an unpaid, in-person internship, and will be based at the CWS building in Boston. There may be some opportunities for limited remote work. CWS is centrally located in downtown Boston and is accessible by public transit via the commuter rail, orange, and green subway lines.
 
Activities will include but are not limited to-
 
·   Work closely with CWS’ Funding and Business Development team on projects related to grant writing, prospect research, stewardship, and tracking.
 
·   Helping to develop CWS' marketing materials and working on monthly newsletters.
 
·    Expanding the funding pipeline using multiple sources and identifying potential private and public funders whose goals align with our capabilities and mission.
 
·    Assist in preparation of grant materials and submission of grant applications, as well as responding to requests for information from funders.
 
·    Helping to prepare sponsorship requests for special fundraising events.
 
·     Provide administrative support as needed.
