The Cohen Camps have an immediate early-career opening for a Development and Database Coordinator.

The Coordinator will be a part of a development team that raises funds to nurture young people’s confidence, community, and growth at our three nonprofit Jewish summer camps (cohencamps.org). This person will serve a primary supportive role overall to the success of fundraising at Camps Pembroke, Tel Noar, and Tevya. The Coordinator will report directly to the Development Director and work closely with the Accounting Manager and the three-camp leadership team to ensure accurate gift recording and acknowledgements.

Reports To:  Development Director
Employment Status: Full-time (40 hours/week), salaried
Location: Onsite at Cohen Camps office in Wellesley, MA

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily internal operations and manage all donation processing, receipting, acknowledging, and pledge management activity
  • Manage monthly financial reconciliation, data integrity of donation information, and data input, while adhering to departmental policies and procedures
  • Create, maintain, and execute queries and reports that track fundraising progress
  • Serve as the point person for list management and execution for mailings, e-communications
  • Support development staff on creation and distribution of newsletters, online appeals, and e-blasts
  • Provide back-up support of front desk/receptionist duties when needed
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Development Director

  • Handle confidential donor information with sensitivity, integrity, and accuracy
  • Organize and prioritize work in accordance with supervisory input
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and analytic skills
  • Carry out tasks with a high attention to excellence and detail
  • Function effectively with moderate supervision
  • Manage time well

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years’ experience (or equivalent combination of training/experience) in database concepts, data entry and customer service
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially data sorting/manipulation in Microsoft Excel
  • Basic office support skills, with positive phone manner and clear writing style
  • Flexibility to work outside the normal schedule to accommodate and support occasional evening/weekend events and fundraising/volunteer projects or planning meetings (generally 1-2/month at most)
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree a plus


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a nonprofit setting/fundraising environment
  • Familiarity with gift processing and/or fundraising principles
  • Experience with DonorPerfect or similar donation management software
  • Familiarity with additional fundraising and communications tools such as Qgiv, Constant Contact, Canva, and Facebook/Instagram fundraisers
  • Familiarity with Judaism and experience in a Jewish environment
